Meet the staff

Steve Tutt, Founder

Since the founding of Quick-Dry Flood Services, Steve Tutt and his wife, Melodie, have participated in every phase of the company’s operation. Steve brought his knowledge of modern methods, including San Diego’s first truck mounted steam cleaning unit, from Oregon in 1973. Steve developed and invented a number of new drying technologies widely used in the industry today. Steve Tutt was one of 18—worldwide—to write the standards for IICRC. Steve has received IICRC certification, along with ASCR certification in water damage restoration. He is a member of IICRC, ASCR, and the CFI. Steve founded the Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning School at CCI in 1978 and has conducted classes as a volunteer instructor. Steve Tutt continually attends and instructs at seminars and schools regarding all phases of the industry, including Water Damage Restoration, Indoor Air Pollution and Sick Building Syndrome. He is experienced in all phases of building maintenance, deflooding and water damage restoration and is recognized authority on causes and treatment of Sick Building Syndrome.

Tisha Freitas, President

Tisha is on a mission to build business and build community, creating meaningful relationships in the process. In 1990, Tisha had her initial introduction into the industry and since 1994, Tisha has been an active part of Quick-Dry Flood Services. In 2004, Tisha and Robert bought Quick-Dry Flood Services from his father, Steve Tutt, to continue the family business. Tisha helps develop partnership strategies that continue to drive corporate growth, adhere to industry standards, and in the process fosters community involvement. Tisha holds a BS from Cal State San Marcos and two minors in business from Palomar College.

Robert Freitas, Vice President

Robert has a passion for Quick-Dry Flood Services that started as a 4 year old climbing on his father’s truck mounted systems and that passion has continued to grow through the years. Robert has been actively working in the industry for over 25 years. Robert began his career as a carpet cleaner and a flood technician at Sun Carpet & Cleaning. Robert worked his way up, attended classes and became certified in various areas of the industry. Robert attends symposiums, seminars and classes on a regular basis to ensure Quick-Dry Flood Services remains at the forefront in the industry. Since the 1990’s, Robert has retained his IICRC certification. In the same year, Robert and Tisha had the good-fortune to buy Quick-Dry Flood Services from his father, Steve Tutt, to continue the legacy for their own children.

Dave Weaver, General Manager

Dave served as a General Manager for various companies including Scotts Carpet and The Meter Company. From 1982 through 2000, Dave held positions in sales, management, shipping, manufacturing and tech support. For the last 20 years, Dave has regularly attended industry symposiums, seminars and classes; and is IICRC certified in Water Damage, Mold, Carpet Repair, Spot Cleaning, Carpet Dying, and Upholstery. Dave is currently an instructor and is Blood Borne Pathogen certified. In 2007, Dave was “on site” with the rest of his crew supporting the restoration efforts from the San Diego Wildfires.
