Celebrating the spirit of the season while helping critically ill children ….

Quick-Dry Flood Services, a long standing supporter and sponsor of  Rady Children’s Hospital, is once again stepping up to make a difference and would like everyone to participate!!  

Every year The Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, located within the Acute Care Pavillion, offers specialized cancer and hematology services to children of San Diego, Imperial and South Riverside Counties.  It is an incredible place of hope and healing contributing to the practice of science and pediatric medicine worldwide.

As a proud sponsor of this event we extend an invitation to everyone to come out, enjoy some ice-skating with friends, family and loved ones.  Help us raise funds for this wonderful organization!  Proceeds collected from the Fantasy on Ice, Ice Rink at Horton Square will benefit the Peckham Center.  This year’s event includes the Opening Night Celebration on November 17th, Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 30th and Fantasy on Ice Family Day on December 11th.

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated with us!  We were all a part of helping raise money to help critically ill children receive much needed care. 

It was a beautiful, warm Saturday morning at Sea World and perfect for our walk.  The event started at the South Shores Boat Ramp and crossed through SeaWorld.  Those who wanted to participate in the 4 mile walk enjoyed the longer scenic route and continued around Mission Bay.  After the walk we were all able to enjoy games, food and fun at a special celebration through the park.  

It was fantastic to see all the children,  friends and families that came out to support Rady Children’s Hopspital.  During this year’s event Rady Children’s Hospital was able to raise $306,841!!!!  That money is really going to go a long way to help improve the lives of many children. 

If you were not able to participate this year, we strongly encourage you to come out next year or attend one of the other Rady Children’s Hospital Events.  Every dollar counts and those of us fortunate enough to have healthy familes should do what we can to help out those who aren’t so lucky!!!!

Quick-Dry participated in this years HGH Annual Charity Event and was happy to be a part of raising money to provide much needed help to the people of San Diego with special needs. 

‘Glee’ actress Lauren Potter was the Guest of Honor and talked about the support and encouragement Home of Guiding Hands has provided her throughout the years.  This has allowed her to have a possitive attitude and has given her the courage to pursue her dream, even when others did not support her, of becoming an actress.  Home of Guiding Hands has allowed her to believe that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!

This year’s Miracle Maker Gala was held on Saturday June 11th where a good time was unavoidable!  Entertainment for the evening consisted of roving stilt walkers, jugglers, clowns, contortionists and ariel acrobats.  

With various guest speakers  and video testimonials, of children helped by Rady Children’s Hospital, it was difficult not to get emmotional but most of all it was easy to see why helping  out such a great cause should be done!!!

Quick-Dry Flood Services’ commitment to San Diego Charities continues in 2011.   Home of Guiding Hands will be hosting it’s 37th Annual Charity Event on June 25th, 2011 and we will be there! 

Home of Guiding Hands is a non-profit public benefit corporation that has been providing quality residential support and training services to individuals with developmental disabilities (mental retardation, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and autism) for more than 40 years.  They offer a variety of services including community living, independent  living, respite care and senior care planning (HGH, 2011).

  Each year Home of Guiding Hands must raise between 500,000 to 1 million dollars to meet the budgetary gap between state reimbursements and the actual costs of providing these quality services (HGH, 2011)

For the past 5 years Seaworld has teamed up with Rady Children’s Hopital and held the Shamu & You Family Walk.  This year the event will be held Oct 1, 2011 – 8:00 am. 

Register as an individual or organize a team and WALK WITH US!  You can choose from the 1-mile or 4-mile course and after the walk enjoy games, food and fun at a special celebration. 

Rady Children’s is a non-profit hospital which depends on our community to help fund critically needed care and services for its patients.  Your gifts will help purchase basic needs such as Band-Aids and more specialized treatments like Chemotherapy for children with cancer, wheelchairs and even a Pacemaker for a child with a heart condition. 

Every gift- every dollar matters!!  Please help by making an investment in the health of our comminity’s children (rchsd, 2011).

On April 19th, 2011, it was a beautiful day for golfing and raising money for Rady Children’s Hospital.  Continuing our support for this wonderful organization, Quick-Dry Flood Services agreed to match the proceeds collected at the event.  With a positive turn-out, approximately $1,200 was raised and with Quick-Dry’s matching contribution we are proud to say that a total of $2,400 was donated to this great cause.   

 We appreciate everyone that came out and participated with us on this day!

This year PHCC was held on Saturday May 14th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.  San Diego’s largest plumbing, heating and cooling contractor’s trade show went off without a hitch.   Our theme this year……..FIESTA!!! 

We want to thank everyone that came out, visited our booth and participated in our Rady Children’s Hopsital Fund Raiser.  Donations were accepted for an entry to win a 3 Day 2 Night Baja Cruise for two.  We were able to raise $286!!!

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
