2013 Miracle Makers Gala - Sea of Miracles

Every year we are reminded of everything this great organization does to help children and their continued work to help research and develop much needed cures.  We were once again proud to attend the Gala and show our support for Rady Children’s Hospital.

The Rady Children’s Hospital Miracle Makers Gala – Sea of Miracles took place on Saturday, June 1st at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The Gala was an opportunity for Rady Children’s to recognize and celebrate the corporations and organizations that raise money for the Hospital every fiscal year. More than 1,000 corporate and community partners were honored for the $14.2 Million they raised for the Hospital in the past year, with an additional $165,890 in net proceeds raised at this year’s event.

Rady Childresn Hospital 2012 Fantasy On Ice 11/15/12 – 1/6/13

January 7th, 2013

Rady Childrens Hospital’s mission is “to work in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and to support its mission through: advocating for the health and well-being of children, increasing community awareness of Rady Children’s Hospital, and fundraising”. Team spirit, camaraderie, and fun can be found throughout the Auxiliary-wide events like Kids’ News Day and Fantasy on Ice.

This year’s Fantasy On Ice event raised funds for The Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.  With our continued support, we once again sponsored the Holiday Tree and were happy to participate during the Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 28th 2012.

Quick-Dry Flood Services will continue to offer its support and help promote Rady Childrens Hopspital events.  Helping secure the publics participation will raise the donations needed to assist with the care, treatment and developement of new cures to help save the lives of as many children as possible.

Here are some pictures at the event this year.

The Cambridge School New Playground Announcement

January 7th, 2013

Exciting Playground Announcement
Last week we announced that a play structure is to be installed this Fall at The Cambridge School. We asked for your help and, as always — you responded. We asked the children what they want in a play structure and they responded with vivid imaginations — as always. And, although it won’t have a petting zoo, or a swimming pool, we are still looking into zoning for the boiling hot lava. What our playground will have are monkey bars and curly, fast slides which seemed to be the students’ favorite options. We know that fun, safe recreation is a necessary part of the day here at The Cambridge School. We also know these kinds of play structures are a costly but important investment in the well-being of our students.

This week we are pleased to announce that the new playground is being funded by Quick-Dry Flood Services. This company is owned and operated by a dedicated Cambridge school family, the Freitas family. We are extremely thankful for their gift that will be enjoyed by many, many children for years to come.

5th Annual Shamu & You Family Walk 2011

October 12th, 2011

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated with us!  We were all a part of helping raise money to help critically ill children receive much needed care.

It was a beautiful, warm Saturday morning at Sea World and perfect for our walk.  The event started at the South Shores Boat Ramp and crossed through SeaWorld.  Those who wanted to participate in the 4 mile walk enjoyed the longer scenic route and continued around Mission Bay.  After the walk we were all able to enjoy games, food and fun at a special celebration through the park.

It was fantastic to see all the children,  friends and families that came out to support Rady Children’s Hopspital.  During this year’s event Rady Children’s Hospital was able to raise $306,841!!!!  That money is really going to go a long way to help improve the lives of many children.

If you were not able to participate this year, we strongly encourage you to come out next year or attend one of the other Rady Children’s Hospital Events.  Every dollar counts and those of us fortunate enough to have healthy familes should do what we can to help out those who aren’t so lucky!!!!

Home Of Guiding Hands Annual Charity Event June 25th, 2011

August 16th, 2011

Quick-Dry participated in this years HGH Annual Charity Event and was happy to be a part of raising money to provide much needed help to the people of San Diego with special needs.

‘Glee’ actress Lauren Potter was the Guest of Honor and talked about the support and encouragement Home of Guiding Hands has provided her throughout the years.  This has allowed her to have a possitive attitude and has given her the courage to pursue her dream, even when others did not support her, of becoming an actress.  Home of Guiding Hands has allowed her to believe that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!

Quick-Dry is proud to be a sponsor for such a great organization that focuses on helping others pursue their dreams regardless of their disability.  We encourage everyone to donate to Home of Guiding Hands by making a personal donation whether it is financial or by donating your time as a volunteer.

Rady Children’s Hospital 2011 Miracles Under the Big Top Gala

June 30th, 2011

This year’s Miracle Maker Gala was held on Saturday June 11th where a good time was unavoidable!  Entertainment for the evening consisted of roving stilt walkers, jugglers, clowns, contortionists and ariel acrobats.

With various guest speakers  and video testimonials, of children helped by Rady Children’s Hospital, it was difficult not to get emmotional but most of all it was easy to see why helping  out such a great cause should be done!!!
